Arianna Huffington
Arianna Stassinopoulos Huffington has been a Greek American columnist, author and businesswoman for more than 20 years. She was the founder of The Huffington Post and the director of Thrive Global. Author of over 15 books. Arianna Huffington is an writer, philanthropist and television host and the owner of The Huffington Post. Originating from Greece Arianna Huffington immigrated to England with her family when she was the age of 16. At Cambridge University she earned a MA degree in Economics. As the first foreign student to hold the position of president in the famous debate group The Cambridge Union, at age 21 she took on the role. A conservative syndicated blogger when she graduated, she went on to become a voice of the Huffington Post. Her fame led to the recruitment of a variety of renowned contributors. Arianna rose to fame when she made the decision to contest for a non-partisan position during the California recall election to replace the then governor Davis. In addition, she also spearheaded the Detroit campaign to encourage fuel-efficient cars. In 2009, she was ranked by Forbes as one of the top women in media gaining 12th position on their listing and the following year the Guardian included her in the top 100 media list. In 2011 AOL Inc. bought The Huffington Post and made the president of that media unit, which comprised of many at the time-current AOL properties too such as Engadget AOL music Style list and Patch Media. Elli Stasinopoulos is the daughter born to Konstantinos the manager's advisor as well as a journalist. Although she was a close friend to her father, it was her bond with her mother that shaped her character. Even in her formative age she demonstrated the qualities of a leader for which she's still known. at the age of 16 she relocated to the United Kingdom to pursue her education and was enrolled at Girton College Cambridge. While in college she joined Cambridge Union, a college debate club. As the third woman president and the first foreigner she was the president of the Cambridge Union. She graduated in 1972 with an MA in Economics. The career of an anchor and reporter began after she graduated. In addition, along with Bernard Levin she appeared on the show Face the music.
