She attended the Germantown Friends School in the city of Germantown in Philadelphia's Germantown neighborhood, in the year 1994. When she graduated at Harvard College in 1998, she went to Harvard College and earned her bachelor of Arts. Welker, wed with John Hughes of Merck Philadelphia in Philadelphia is mother to two.
